Work's been somewhat slow in the past week... which means I had a little time to work on this
I've been playing with Sculptris, a free 3D modeling program by Pixelogic, to try to make something a little more complete than the 3D "sketches" I've made so far.. I thought of doing Freakshow because 1) no hair, and 2) he has really fun, weird, exaggerated facial features that I thought would be easy to make.
Heh. Easy to make. Right.
I had to redo him three times since I kept forgetting details or getting things wrong. In one of the versions he smiles showing teeth. However, that was REALLY creepy so I trashed that one. The hat gave me a lot of trouble because I had no clue how to do the flaps. My computer can barely handle this program. I had to turn off shaders to make it freeze less. Which is too bad, since I could not use the bump tool or materials. I owe www.3dlapidary.com/ the earings. I could not make something so sharp out of clay so I just modified one of their models to make the gemstone earings. Thanks, 3D Lapidary!
